How to prepare for an exhibition to attract maximum attention? The experience gained at MCB Paris and Beauty World Middle East in October shows that the key to success at exhibitions is strategic planning. After these exhibitions, our ÜLKA team returned with new ideas, vision and understanding of what works best and what is just a waste of time and resources.That is why I want to share with you the steps to planning exhibitions.Planning participation in an exhibition starts with a clear goal: what exactly do you want to get from this event?To attract new partners? Demonstrate your innovative developments? Find out about the latest trends and market demand?Clearly defined goals help you not to get scattered and focus on your priorities. For example, at MCB Paris, we focused on demonstrating our new products and invited visitors to try them out, which helped us increase loyalty to our products in the French market.The second important element is the preparation of the stand. It is important that the team is ready to convey information about the product and is able to maintain contact.At Beauty World Middle East, we emphasized interactive demonstrations, which helped to attract more visitors and create a lively interest. By modeling scenarios of questions that might arise, we were able to answer inquiries quickly and with the needs of customers in this market in mind.Tools for collecting contacts should be simple and convenient. QR codes, a clear questionnaire, or even business cards - all of these work for the speed of data processing after the exhibition. We used apps to capture contacts and feedback, which made it much easier to follow up with leads.End the exhibition with the right analysis and follow-up. It is worth establishing communication with each potential partner with whom you managed to communicate no later than a week after the event. What a novel idea - staggering our industry trade shows so that we can attend all of them and meet with our buyers/retailers...WOOO! Kudos to Eric Price and the team at GAMA!#gama #commonsense #ToyIndustryGAMA EXPO 2025 DATE CHANGEYesterday GAMA announced that we are moving the dates of the 2025 GAMA EXPO one week earlier to February 23-27, 2025, to address space issues with our original dates. This decision was made primarily due to the growth we had this year over the previous show in Reno.2024 was our largest show to date with 2,736 people in attendance and 300 exhibitors representing an overall growth of 34% from last year in attendees and nearly a 50% growth in the number of exhibitors. This growth made us reevaluate the space we had under contract at both the hotel and convention center for both 2025 and 2026. When the last Site Selection Committee, comprised of members for all divisions, selected the new home for GAMA EXPO in 2019, we looked at historical growth in Reno and used that projection to secure space for 2024-2026 in Louisville. We blew past that projection with this year’s show.If we stayed with the original March 3-7 dates, we would have had a much smaller footprint than we had this year when we were able to add last minute space to accommodate the growth we were seeing via registrations.As such, we worked with the venues to find dates and rooms that match what we had this year. This is not an effort to add additional space, but to maintain what we offered for 2024.Considering the serious effort it took for the KICC and GALT House to move the groups they already contracted, they asked that we extend our contract by an additional year. As partnerships go both ways, we agreed to the one-year extension.With this change in dates, the three main US industry trade shows will now be held in consecutive weeks.Toy Fest -February 19-21, 2025GAMA EXPO –February 23-27, 2025New York Toy Fair –March 1-4, 2025We understand this change affects everyone’s schedule, but please know, this decision was not made lightly. It was made with the best interest of our members and the overall success of the show in mind.Also, while we agreed to the one year extension, we are committed to supporting the efforts of the member-led Site Selection Committee process which is already looking for our next location once the current contract expires in 2027.

### Trade Shows: The Unexpected “sell me if you can”LOL! It's surprising how, when you build a booth at a trade show, most visitors are actually trying to sell you something. The number of targeted visitors interested in buying your products or services is significantly smaller. Exhibition organizers have no solutions for this problem—no targeted matchmaking of buyer visitors for exhibitors, which is the very reason companies invest in such expensive participation and booth construction.

Last week we were at MEDICA - Leading International Trade Fair in Düsseldorf with CTN.FI. It was a rollercoaster of exhaustion, excitement and everything in between! 😅Four days of talks, demonstrations and trying to remember where I put my water bottle (usually empty by the time I found it). 💦 Despite the sore feet and hydration challenges, it was totally worth it. The atmosphere in the team and on our stand was fantastic and CTN's amazing cryotherapy and recovery technology attracted an incredibly curious and enthusiastic audience.The adventure began on the first day when we almost walked through all 17 halls just to find our stand - the wrong entrance! 🚶♂️🚶♀️ But hey, we got our steps early! 😄We even got to try the products ourselves - using the cryo mask was brilliant, not only for skin regeneration but also for waking us up! 🌬️✨We believe that participating in a trade fair like MEDICA is one of the best ways to enter the German market. Why is that?🤝 Face-to-face meetings: Meeting potential customers, partners and distributors in person helps build trust and strong business relationships. 💡Product demonstrations: Live demos allow customers to experience the effectiveness of the technology first-hand, making it easier to communicate value. 📊 Market Insights: MEDICA provides valuable insights into trends, competitor products and customer needs that are critical to refining market strategies. 👀 Brand visibility: Participation in a prestigious event increases brand visibility, helping our clients to be noticed and remembered. CTN's cutting-edge equipment attracted a lot of attention (who knew freezing yourself could be so popular?). We're proud to have supported their go-to-market efforts, and even prouder to have survived MEDICA with only a few minor blisters 😉 My blisters, however, barely made it back to Finland before I was greeted with a near 40°C fever and a possible new COVID variant... Guess who's missing out on Slush now? 🙃And of course, we took advantage of the moment and enjoyed the Düsseldorf Carnival in the city on Monday evening—what a way to wind down after a day at the fair! 🎉🥳
